G.N.O.

All of Tom's siblings are in town this weekend, which has been really fun. But, for me, the most fun thing about having every body together, was that all of us Sisters-in-law and my Mother-in-law had a Girls Night Out. Our dear sweet husbands were kind enough to give us mom's a much needed break. So they kept ALL the kids (9 in all) up at Grammy's and gave us the night off.

It was so fun to just be able to just kick back and have a girls night. We ate "Girl Food," we soaked our feet, and we just gabbed the night away. I loved it! I got to know these ladies so much better. It was like a slumber party for mom's. Only it ended at 11:00. However, I think a slumber party would be sooooo much fun with my sisters-in-law. A weekend retreat! What a fabulous idea!

Thank you Fullmer Men, for giving us such a wonderful Girls Night Out!

Tender Mercy Moment

Do you ever have just a blah day? Where nothing is really wrong, but everything feels crummy? Well that was me today. My kids were grumpy, I was tired, I have not been out of my house in 5 days, and can't get out, because the weather has been less than great, and Tom has had the car. And to top it all off, Tom would not be coming home, because he is taking his scout troop camping (I know crazy to go out in the middle of November, but that is the Scouting Way).

So there I sat on my couch, just feeling sad, almost ready to cry, when all of the sudden my phone rings. I answer it and hear my sweet sister-in-law's happy voice, telling me that they just happen to be in town, and were wondering if I were up for some visitors. Holy cow, this was exactly what I needed; I honestly feel like I had not talked to an adult in ages. I almost started to cry, to realize that my Brother and Sister-in-law were thinking of me. I know, it may sound pathetic, but I was so touched, and felt very loved at that moment.

So they came over, and hung out for about an hour or so, and it was so fun. I hope they enjoyed themselves. I know I sure did. My brother and I used to hang out all the time, but then we both got married, I moved away, he and his wife both work full time; in short, life happens, and we obviously don't get to hang out as much as we used to. I really have missed that. It was so nice just to have a couple of hours to spend with him and his wife.

Thanks Brad and Kristen. I don't think you will ever know how much your visit meant to me.

My new blog

I decided to keep a blog of my sewing projects. I have been trying to do a bit of seamstress work, so I am kind of hoping this blog will not only be a good way to show some of the things I have made to my friends, but it can sort of act as a portfolio of sorts. So take a look and let me know what you think.

It is still a work in progress, so I have not posted a ton of projects, but it is still fun. If any of you can think of something that I have made that is not on my blog, please remind me of it.

My New Great Endevor

A few days before we left Oregon, one of our friends invited us to one of those product parties (you know like Mary Kay or PartyLite, only this one you get food at). I really never love going to these parties, but I did not feel like cooking dinner, so we went. Here is a video that shows a little bit about the product that was show cased at this party.
Holy cow, it was so cool. The product is called Demarle. It is a flexible bakeware, and it is so awesome. You know all that silicon backing forms you can get at the store, well they are all cheep knock offs of this stuff. I was surprised at how quickly I fell in love with this product. Nothing sticks to this stuff, NOTHING! And the food that is cooked in is actually browns (which regular silicon bakeware does not brown food). Even Martha Stewart, Subway, the Cheese Cake Factory, and a ton of Food Network chefs us this stuff.

By the end of the party, I was just itching to find out how I could get involved with Demarle. It is that cool. So now, I am a new Demarle at Home Rep. I never thought I would be involved in the Home Party Network, but I am supper excited about it. So if you every want to host a Demarle Party, let me know.

I am going to have my 1st party on Friday Night at 6:30. Anyone is welcome to come. Let me know if you wanna come.

Happy Valenite's Day

Four years ago I went out on a random date with a guy on Valentine's Day. I guarantee that I would not have believe it if someone had told me that four years from then I would be married to this same guy, had moved a cross the county, put him through a Doctorate Program, have had two kids, and have moved right back to where we started. But that is exactly what has happened.

Yes, Valentine's Day is the anniversary of Tom's and my first date (cheesy, I know). We have been together for just Four years; in a way it feels like just yesterday was our first date, but we have done some much in such little time, that it also feels like we have been together forever.

One of the things that has happened, is that my wedding ring was stollen. Last March we went swimming at a friend's condo. I put my ring in a bag, and when I came back it was gone. :-( We looked everywhere for it; we posted ads on Craig's List for it's return, we filed a police report. But sadly it never turned up. I was so sad when we left Portland, because I knew there would be no way we would ever recover it if we did not live in the state.

I have been so bummed about my ring, but my tricky husband always has something up his sleeve. On Valentines Day he made this big fancy dinner, set the table with our nice dishes, and candles (mind you the candle were in upside down paper cups with holes punched in them, because we don't own candle sticks). Having two kids at the table makes it hard to have a romantic candle lit dinner, but it was Romanic and Charming.

As we are eating dinner Tom says "Know what would make this perfect....? If I had your ring."
Next thing I know he is down one one knee, and pulls a ring out from (he had taped it the bottom of the table just like when he had proposed).

HE HAD MY RING REMADE!!!! How thoughtful is he??? What a sweet heart I am married to.
Here is my new ring:

And here is a picture of the original:
I think he did a pretty good job.

So what did I give Tom? Well, every year I do 14 days of Valentines for Tom. This year, I did candy bars (ie. "I am never going to let you slip through my Butterfingers," or "Orange you glad we are married?" Some how I think He won for best gift given this year.

Talmage's Birth Story

Well now that Tal is a week old, and I have finally caught up on my sleep, I think it is time tell his birth story.

Talmage's due date kept changing. It moved from December 27th, to the 29th, to January 7th and back to the 1st. Like any Mother-to-be, I was more than ready for him to come a couple of weeks before the first due date. On December 17th, my midwife told me I was already dilated to 3, so I decided that it was time for this baby to come. On the 24th I started to try every trick in the book to get labor started, by going up to Timberline Lodge for an Altitude Change (6600 ft above Sea Level). The next few days I think I tried everything, including but not limited to, eating an entire pineapple, pressing on pressure points, eating Oriental food, walking (I walked every aisle at a Super Walmart), eating eggplant, etc.

I had an appointment with my midwife in the morning on January 31st. I was rather discouraged at the appointment, because I was really hoping that I would have the baby before the end of the year, and aside from the fact that I was now dilated to a 4 and 70% effaced, I was showing NO signs that the baby was going to come. And going off of Owen's labor, which was over 24 hours, I knew that this baby was not going to make it out before the new year. My midwife suggest that I try Castor Oil. She said that it just might do the trick, and I could have a baby by 2010. I was sure it would not work, but Tom convinced me that we should try it.

When we got home, I downed 2 TBSP of Castor Oil, and went to work getting ready for the NEW YEARS EVE Party we were hosting that night. Some of our friends showed up around 5:30 for the party, which is right when I noticed that I was having some light contractions. I really did not think much of it, because for the past month I had had light contractions in the evening. I was so distracted by our guest,s that I did not realize how close these contractions were until I sat down a watched the clock, and realized that the minute hand had not moved very far between two sets of contractions. That was at 7:00. I snuck of to the bathroom, sat on the toilet, and pulled out my phone to time the contractions. They were coming every 1:30, and then my water broke.

Can you imagine? There I am, in labor, hiding in the bathroom, because I have a bunch of New Years Guest over, and I don't want to spoil the party. I sent Tom a text message, asking him to come to the bathroom. He called the hospital to tell them that I am in Labor, and they tell him that they are full, and that they were going to have to hide an other hospital to send us to' which meant No Water Birth. They called back a couple of minutes later, and told us the Providence Medical had room for us.

It turned out to be a good thing so many people were at our house, because we were able to jump in the car, and not have to worry about who was going to take care of Owen. As we were leaving, one of our friends told us we had exactly 4 hours left in the year to have a baby.

We got to the hospital by 8:30. I was totally not expecting this labor to be as hard as it was. With Owen, labor was slow and steady. It was easy, it never felt much worse than menstrol cramps. In fact, it was so easy, I was able to get into that "Labor Land," where you are in a kind of foggy place, just focused on having a baby, and when you are done, you don't remember much. Well, that is what I was expecting to happen with Talmage, but NONE of that happened. His contractions were hard and fast, and it was all back labor. I could not concentrate, I could not relax, I could not remember I time I had been in so much pain. I was ready to ask for an epidural, when the midwife looked at my birth plan and said, "Oh, you wanted a waterbirth? Well we do have a Jacuzzi Tub you can labor in, but you can not deliver in it. Would you like to try that?" Holy Cow, I do not know what it is, but sitting in water makes labor SOOOO much easier for me. The contractions were still super hard, but the water works wonders, especially with the jets on my back.

I was only in the tube for maybe an hour and a half before I was ready to start to push. And then he was born just an hour after that. I still can not believe how fast everything went. I started labor at 7:30, and had a baby by 11:30. CRAZY!!! Did I mention that he was the last baby of the year?
Because of H1N1, kid under 12 were not allowed in the hospital. So Owen had to wait to meet Talmage. As soon as we brought Talmage in, Owen stuck his arms straight out and said, "Brubber!! I hold it." He is such a good big brother!

Hot Dog!!!!

I saw something today that I honestly thought I would never see in real life.  Owen and I were driving to the store, when I see a childhood dream parked in the parking lot of a hotel.  There sitting proudly, and ever so identifiable was the WIENERMOBILE!  Holy Cow, I was so excited!  So I pulled into the hotel parking lot, got Owen out of the car and took a picture of this exciting moment in my life.
This is huge.  I mean it is not everyday that you get to see the WienerMobile!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MISTER!!!

I know that it has been way too long since I have posted, I blame it on this pregnancy.  I have been so tired, that when I am not working or playing with Owen, I am sleeping.  As a result, blogging has taken the back seat in my life for the past month and a half.  I promise, I am going to get better.  I have a ton to update.

So what brought me out of my Blogging Hiatus?  It had to be something Monumental...Right?

Well yes, it is.  TODAY is mine and Tom's THIRD ANNIVERSARY!!!  I honestly cannot believe that we have been married for 3 years.  It some times feels like we just met yesterday, and then there are times that it feels like we have been married forever, and hat we have always been in each others lives.

So, I just wanted to tell Tom, and the rest of the world how grateful I am that he is my hubby, and that I love him a whole LOT.

One Exciting Birthday!

Well, it is official.  As of today, I am now the big TWO-FIVE, a quarter of a century, $.25; however you wanna say it, I am now 25 years old!

I don't know what it is about my birthday, but for some reason it always ends up being a big DRAG.  Now, I am not trying to whine or get sympathy, I am just saying that for some reason, I always have expectation for my birthday to be something, and it never is, so them I end up sitting our moping all day.  So it is definitely my fault that I usually end up having a Gloomy Eeyore Birthday (except for my 13th birthday, when my period started for the first time).

But today I am determined to have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  Tom has to work at the clinic until 7:00, and I have been feeling sick all day.  But I am still determined that today is a GREAT Birthday! Why? Well, let me tell you.......

We are going to be adding a BIRTHDAY to our Family!!!!  Yep, that is right, We are having another BABY!!!!  That is the birthday that I am excited for!  I am due on the 27th of December.  Yeah, I know, awesome planning...a Christmas Baby.  So needless to say, we are NOT going to be moving right after Tom graduates in December.  Nope, we are going to stay put for awhile.

We Finally Did It.

Well, it is official, Tom and I have now joined the "Evil Network" as I call it.  You might know is as FACEBOOK.  Go ahead, look us up: Rosie - diffendoofer@hotmail.com, Tom - Thomfullmer@gmail.com.  I think that it will be fun being able to reconnect with people, but I honestly don't see myself falling in love with it.

I mostly created the account so that people could find my blog.  Lets be honest, I am too lazy to give the world constant updates on more then one website; Anyone who is linked to my Good Reads account can testify to that; I rarely update that.  But I guess we will see how I do with FaceBook this time around.  Hopefully, I will keep it active enough for it not to get closed.  :0)

Big Dreams, and Silly Pass Times

Here is my confession.  I have the silliest obsession, and I am sure it is not healthy.  Awhile ago, I cam across a House Plan website, and I have been hooked ever since.  I have developed a new past time of looking for my Dream Home.  I guess that it is not a new past time; ever since I was a little girl I have loved looking at floor plans.  I don't know why, but I can just get lost staring at house designs, trying to envision what they will look like built.  I enjoy this so much, that sometimes I think that I went into the wrong field; I should have studied architectural design instead of Health and Wellness, especially since I spend more time with house plans and real estate (ie apartments) then I do with work out plans and diets.

There are actually quit a few house plan websites.  Some of them are really cool, you can do an "Advanced Search" and list everything you want in a house, and it will filter through thousands of blueprints, and show you all the plans that meet your criteria.  I have a binder full of floor plans I like, and pictures of design elements I want in my house when I grow up.  Awesome, right?  Well, I think it is.

In fact, I have found my dream house.  You can click here to see all of its details.  One day, when we are rich, and can afford things, and Tom has a successful practice, and we have paid off his student loans, and we have saved up a lot of money, we just might build this house.  I guess we will have to see.

My Great Cake Experiment

Tonight was my wards Enrichment Night.  It was our Relief Society Birthday party.  They usually have a dinner and program.  And of course what is a Birthday Party without a cake?

Well, somehow, someone, somewhere heard that I make and decorate cakes, and I was asked to make the cake for this shin-dig.  Let me clarify now that I have never in my entire life decorated a cake....EVER.   So how the Relief Society got the notion that I know how to do this is beyond me.  I tried multiple times to tell them that they had asked the wrong girl to do this, but they just would not take "no" for an answer.  So I made the cake.  It was HUGE by the way, 13 in X 27 in (that is what they asked for, and their wish was my command).

This year, the theme was "Food Storage: Creating Your Own Noah's Ark."  So I thought that I would put attempt to put an Ark on it.  This is how it turned out:

Not so bad for being a first attempt, ehh?

Best Roommateship Ever

I had a lot of awesome roommates during my college years. Most of them I can honestly say that I absolutely loved. But there where two years, and three roommates that I will for ever adore. Megan, Malorie, Elyse, and I lived together at Andersen Apartments from 2004 to 2006. If you where to ask any of us, we would tell you that we were the best "roommateship" you could ever find. Not to say that we don't love other roommates that we have had, it is just that the there was something about the chemistry between the four of us. Maybe it is that we all got along so great, maybe it was because we had so much fun, maybe it was because we experienced soooo many things together. But what ever it was, there is something that has bounded us four on a forever deep level.

Last Tuesday, we all happened to be in Logan Utah, the home of Utah State University, and all our favorite roommate memories. This has not happened in almost 4 years, so naturally, we had the best roommate get together ever. We laughed, we cried, we reminised, we caught up, we dreamed, and then we laughed some more. I can honestly say that I love these ladies to death and back again. They are like sisters to me, and I am so greatful that I have them in my lives. I just think that we need to do these get togethers A LOT more often.

13 Months, 14 Hair Cuts

You know that old saying that kids grow like
weeds.  Well it is true, but Owen's case, his hair grows like a weed on steroids.
He was born with 2 inches of the blackest hair I had ever seen.  At 6 weeks old, he had his first hair cut.  Tomorrow Owen will be 13 months old, and I just gave him his 14th hair cut.  Tom does not know that I did this.

Tom is very picky about the way his hair is cut.  I once attempted to cut his hair, and I did not do it right, so he had to get his friend from school (for was a hair dresser before a chiropractic student) to fix it.  Ever since then he has not let me touch his hair, nor Owen's.  I am not so sure why he does not want me to cut Owen's, he just claims it is easier to have Milika cut both of theirs at the same time.

So tonight, as I as giving Owen
his bath, I notices how long his hair was looking.
It was so long that it was almost covering his eyes, and growing over the tops of his ears. I swear he had more hair than most 3 year old girls do.  So I thought it would be a good idea to give him a little trim while he was in the bath.

Cutting a squirmy little kid's
hair is not so easy.   Have you ever made a scrapbook page, and just kept doing things to it, you never knew quite when to stop, and when it was all done you stepped back and looked at it as though "O man, I should have stopped when I was ahead?"  Well, that is exactly how it was cutting his hair.  I just kept cutting, and cutting, and cutting.  When I finally finished, I looked at him and thought, "Oh no, Tom is not going to be happy."  Look at this picture, you can see how crooked it is in the back (although, I must say the front looks good).
But after I got him dried off, and dressed, I got to get a good look at it, I don't think it looks so bad.  In fact, I wonder if Tom will even notice that I cut it.

Mommy's little helper

The other day I was practicing my super-mommy skills of holding a baby, cooking dinner and doing the dishes.  Owen decided that the suds looked so fun that he just had to get his hands in them, which of coarse he then tried to put his bubble covered hands in his mouth.  I think the pictures say it all!

Birthday Party

Happy Birthday to me...Yesterday.  Yep, that is right yesterday I turned the big 24.  I kinda feel like that is so young.  I am not even a quarter of a century old yet, and I already have finished college, gotten married, and had a baby.  Wow, I guess I have plenty of time to do a lot more in life.
So what did I do for my birthday you ask?  Well it was pretty low key.  Tom did have a couple fun surprises for me though.  He got our wedding announcement framed for me (I have been wanting to do that since we got married).  He also had one of our friends do a  make over for me.  It was supper fun.  She is actually a professional makeup artist, so I looked awesome when she was finished, thanks Nicole!  Then Tom took me to this cute little Italian place.
The only sad part is that I never got to have a birthday cake.  I think that I am going to make a Birthday cake for my self on Sunday.  If any of you would like to come over and help me eat it, please do.  Seriously, lets have a party Sunday night.  Lets say 6:30.  Let me know if you are going to come over and have cake and icecream for my HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
