Night Hike to Rocky Butte

Sometimes Tom gets these funny notions to go do some random things.   Last night was one of these times.  I was felling rather sick with a migrain headache, and Owen was super antsy, because we had stayed home all day.  So when Tom got home from studying, he declared that we needed to go for a short night hike up to Rocky Butte.  Ok, maybe "Hike" is not the right word, it is more like a drive up the Butte to a staircase, that leads up to the point; but still, it was night, and we had to climb.

It was gorgeous up there in the dark.  There are some very scenic views from up there (even, or especially, at night). Take a look:

Here Tom and Owen are looking over into Vancouver WA.

Owen, standing on top of a monument (don't worry, Tom is holding him from behind).

Portland at night (pretty ehh?).

A Cute Engagement Photo

PICTURE TAG!

Yes, another Stupid Tag Game.  I don't know why I play these, but oh well.

Here are the rules.

1. Go to my documents/pictures.
2. Go to my 6th file folder.
3. Go to my 6th picture.
4. Blog about it.
5. Tag 6 people to do the same.

I love this picture.  It was taken when we were getting pictures done for our Wedding announcement.  We actually almost used this one.  Funny that this is the one that came up in for this silly game.

I tag: Nicole, Kerri, Moana, Hailey, Megan, Lindsey, Jenn

Craft It Forward

Craft It Forward Exchange is based on the concept of the movie "Pay it forward."

Here's how it works... I will send a hand made gift to the first three people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join the CIF exchange. All the gifts will be made and sent out 'sometime within the next year'. How exciting to not know when your surprise package will arrive! What you need to do in return, is craft it forward by making the same promise on your blog. This exchange is only open to those with active websites or blogs. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PROMISE TO POST THIS SAME 'CRAFT IT FORWARD' MESSAGE ONTO YOUR BLOG, WHICH MUST BE ACTIVE IN ORDER TO PLAY. YOU WILL CRAFT IT FORWARD TO THREE PEOPLE WHO COMMENT ON YOUR BLOG.

I'd love for you to join me! Will you? Other comments are welcome, but only the first three will be my Craft It Forward recipients. Come and join me who doesn't love a gift or giving gifts???

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be or when.
5- The catch is that you must post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog.

Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!
Who's in? (If you are one of the first three to comment, leave me your email so I can get your mailing address.)

Midnight Party with Madi

Last Thursday night, Tom got a text message around midnight, asking if we could watch our friend's 2 year old daughter, Madi.  Summer was 37 weeks pregnant, but apparently her baby could not wait any longer to come; and seeing as Grandma wasn't planning on coming for a couple more weeks, they needed us to watch her.  It ended up being a lot of fun having her around.

When she first got here (at 12:30 am) she was not very happy, and did not want to sleep; so Tom, being the sweet guy he is, stayed up and watched Dumbo with her.  She ended up falling asleep on the couch, but Tom did not want her to wake up and not know where she was, so he slept on the floor next to the couch.  What a sweet guy.

Here is Owen, Tom, and Madi, all playing together in the morning.

After well got up, we made pancakes for breakfast.  Mmmm boy those were good.

Then Madi taught  Owen how to climb out of his crib.

Madi drew a picture for her new baby brother Chase.

And then Madi helped me make cookies.

I really liked having a little helper around.  It was a ton of fun.   It made me excited for Owen to get a little bigger.
