Baby Look-a-like

Who does the baby on this box look like?

Here is a closer look (in case you need one):

Here is a hint:

Funny, huh? Or maybe you think I am crazy for thinking that my baby looks like the Pampers Baby. But am not the only one.

The other day, I looked at the box of Pampers and thought, "Oh my Gosh, my baby is in that picture." I decided not to tell Tom that I thought Talmage looked like the Pampers Baby, because I thought he would think I am crazy. But that very night he looked at the box and said, "Is it just me, or does that baby look like Tal?" Not 10 minutes later, Tom's mom saw the box and proclaims, "That baby looks just like yours!"

What can I say, my baby is cute enough to be the Pampers Baby.

Happy Valenite's Day

Four years ago I went out on a random date with a guy on Valentine's Day. I guarantee that I would not have believe it if someone had told me that four years from then I would be married to this same guy, had moved a cross the county, put him through a Doctorate Program, have had two kids, and have moved right back to where we started. But that is exactly what has happened.

Yes, Valentine's Day is the anniversary of Tom's and my first date (cheesy, I know). We have been together for just Four years; in a way it feels like just yesterday was our first date, but we have done some much in such little time, that it also feels like we have been together forever.

One of the things that has happened, is that my wedding ring was stollen. Last March we went swimming at a friend's condo. I put my ring in a bag, and when I came back it was gone. :-( We looked everywhere for it; we posted ads on Craig's List for it's return, we filed a police report. But sadly it never turned up. I was so sad when we left Portland, because I knew there would be no way we would ever recover it if we did not live in the state.

I have been so bummed about my ring, but my tricky husband always has something up his sleeve. On Valentines Day he made this big fancy dinner, set the table with our nice dishes, and candles (mind you the candle were in upside down paper cups with holes punched in them, because we don't own candle sticks). Having two kids at the table makes it hard to have a romantic candle lit dinner, but it was Romanic and Charming.

As we are eating dinner Tom says "Know what would make this perfect....? If I had your ring."
Next thing I know he is down one one knee, and pulls a ring out from (he had taped it the bottom of the table just like when he had proposed).

HE HAD MY RING REMADE!!!! How thoughtful is he??? What a sweet heart I am married to.
Here is my new ring:

And here is a picture of the original:
I think he did a pretty good job.

So what did I give Tom? Well, every year I do 14 days of Valentines for Tom. This year, I did candy bars (ie. "I am never going to let you slip through my Butterfingers," or "Orange you glad we are married?" Some how I think He won for best gift given this year.

We made it to Utah!

Well, we made it here to Utah, about 2 weeks ago, but we just got our internet set up. So here is so updates:
  • Driving with a moving truck really slows you down. What is usually a 10 to 12 hour drive, ended up taking almost 18. Which felt especially long for me because I was the relief driver for Tom and his brother Bill. I think I ended up driving 16 of the 18 hours.

  • Here is some FREE Advise for everyone...NEVER speed in CASSIA COUNTY Idaho. The speed limit is 75 mph. In November I got pulled over near Jerome for going 79 (I got off). While we were moving, I got pulled over for going 80. Grrrrrrr!!! The cop claims he caught me a 86 (which is not true), and to make matters worse, my insurance card expired 3 days prior, ad he was not budging about not having a current proof of insurance. When the officer asked if my address was current, I said, "No, I am in the process of moving right now." He did not get it. He had to ask 5 times before he understood that I WAS MOVING to my new house as we were speaking.

  • Our house (or basement apartment) is supper cute! It is way bigger then our little 850 square foot house in Portland, but it does not have nearly as much storage, so Tom and I have filled up countless DI boxes.

  • Tom is treating patients! He works at Advance Spine Chiropractic, and loves being able to treat people. He had his very-first-very-own patient last week, and was so excited about it.

  • We had a Heart Attack! The Young Women in our Ward gave us a very cute Welcome to the Neighborhood!

  • Owen finally got a BIG BOY BED! He used to be territorial of his crib, and did not like it when I would put Talmage in the crib for his naps. But now Owen has his own bed, and couldn't care less where Tal sleeps.

  • Talmage is getting so big. He is now six weeks, and I can hardly believe it.

We love being in Utah, and so close to family. It is so nice to have Grandparrents just a short drive away, and cousin to play with. But we MISS PORTLAND!!!! We love it up there. We love our friends, our ward, the green, and yes even the weather. And we miss you all desperately.

Playing Mom

Right before Talmage was born Owen developed an extreme fascination with all things Baby. We ended up getting him a baby doll because he loves babies so much, and we figured he might like to have his own baby when Mom had her baby.

Well, our brilliant plan has not worked quite as well as we thought it would. Although Owen loves his doll, he loves his Baby Brubber a lot more. When ever Tal starts to cry, Owen runs right to his side, and tries to calm him down. Owen is constantly asking to hold the baby. And he loves to help bath and diaper Talmage.

Today, Owen tried to feed Talmage. He asked if he could hold the baby. A soon as I placed the baby in his arms this is what Owen did

A First and A Last

Yesterday we went to the coast. It was our last trip to the coast, while we live in Oregon, but it was also Talmage's first.

It was rainy, but great. Owen and Tom had a great time chasing the wave (or more the waves chasing Owen). And Owen discovered how fun it is to throw mud at his Dad.

We Love the Coast! It is definitely on our list of things that we will miss when we move. I am glad we got to go one last time, and that Tal made it out there with us.

Packing up, and Moving On!

I can not believe we are moving in exactly 2 weeks from today. Tom has this great plan for this to be the smoothest move in history, so he has been spending the past week packing things up and moving them out to the garage. The goal is that have everything boxed and in the garage by Tuesday night so that when we get the truck on Wednesday it will be supper easy to pack; not to mention how much easier it will be for me to clean the house with everything out of it.

I am supper excited about the place we are moving to. We found a cute place just about 2 miles from Tom's office. It is actually the basement of a couple, but from the pictures, you can't really tell that it is a basement. I think the thing I am most excited about it that they have a yard, and a huge yard at that. They live on an acre, and they have a garden that they will let me plant in, and they have goats, and chickens in the very back of the yard! And I am not going to have to manage an apartment complex! And we will be close to family again! And we will be finally going somewhere that has snow! Oh, I cannot even begin to tell you have excited I am to move.

Here are some picutures of our new place (sorry they are so small):

The Kitchen
